Fibromyalgie

When fatigue and pain go hand in hand.

Fibromyalgia literally means pain in connective tissue and muscles. As these are the soft tissues of the body, the condition is sometimes known as soft-tissue rheumatism. Fibromyalgia often manifests itself as a combination of different symptoms with lingering pain all over the body and fatigue as the most noticeable characteristics.

Individuals with fibromyalgia commonly complain of muscle pain and weakness, feeling insufficiently rested when waking up, chronic headaches or migraines, chest tightness, and numbness or tingling in the body. They suffer from concentration problems and have difficulty learning new things. They may also be anxious or depressed. They often experience a swollen sensation in the body. About half of individuals with fibromyalgia have overly mobile joints.

The symptoms indicative of fibromyalgia may differ from patient to patient. Our experience teaches us that only an examination of your overall functioning can provide insight into the right diagnosis.

We always start on the basis of a holistic approach to find the real underlying cause of your pain and symptoms and in doing so arrive at a long-term solution.

How do we examine fibromyalgia?

There is no such thing as one definitive treatment for fibromyalgia. Since the symptoms differ from patient to patient, we always carry out a full examination that maps out your specific symptoms. This also means that we look at your symptoms at the level of body and mind. Only by taking all these aspects into account can we arrive at a correct diagnosis.

The correct diagnosis enables us to work out an individual treatment plan adapted to your needs. We go through this step by step with you so that you understand what action can be taken to restore health and well-being.

After three and six months of treatment, we follow up your progress and expect a noticeable improvement in your personal condition.

Your health is our priority.
Let's work on it together.
